Orton-Gillingham Classes are now offered by the same group of professionals that have been teaching in the Twin Cities area for years. Jackie Dimmen, Kathy Fears, Mary Platt, Karen Sonday, Arlene Sonday, and Hannah Tolles are pleased to have formed a new organization that continues their commitment to quality, research-based teacher training. Additional board members include Deb Martin, Rose Schaeppi and Arlene Timm.

The mission of Orton-Gillingham of Minnesota is to provide scientifically based reading research instruction and supervised practicum experience in the Orton-Gillingham Approach to teaching reading, spelling and writing. Each course participant practices for a total of 18 hours with a student while under the supervision of a master teacher.

Orton-Gillingham Teacher Training classes
Level 1 and Level 2, Lecture and Practicum
When: Saturday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 16,
    9 AM until 3:30 PM
    and Tuesdays, Oct. 12 through Dec. 7,
    5:30 PM until 9 PM
Where: Groves Academy, St. Louis Park, MN
Cost: $750. Scholarships are available.

Orton-Gillingham Tutorial in Reading and Spelling
Who: Students, reading level first through sixth grade
When: 9 sessions on Tuesday nights, Tuesday, Oct. 12 through Tuesday, Dec. 7; 6 PM or 7 PM
Where: Groves Academy, St. Louis Park, MN
Registration forms are now available. Cost: $90. Scholarships are available.
